Nassau Woman Dragged Her Mother With Her Car After Argument: PD

Police say her mother tried to get her purse out of the car when her daughter backed up, dragging her and possibly running her over.

An argument between a mother and daughter in Massapequa on Wednesday got violent, and now the daughter is facing assault charges.

According to police, Shaquay Minter, 25, of County Line Road, got into an argument with her 42-year-old mother around 1:15 p.m. The argument continued outside and onto the driveway, police said, where Minter got into her car. When her mother tried to take her pocketbook out of the car, police say Minter backed up, dragging her mother and possibly running her over.

Minter's mother sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Minter was arrested without incident.

Minter is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree criminal contempt. She is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
