I have been able to write with a small degree of humor about my lack of computer skills,
However today I find no humor whatsoever in my sudden introduction to the rampant virus, Covid.
The snow is gentle as it makes quick visits to the two large windows of my small and snug apartmen. I believe the blizzard began four days ago, Thanksgiving evening. However, it seemed endless and almost suffocating despite its frightening beauty.

This year it arrived with subtle warnings I did not heed (loss of appetite, fatigue and yes, just a mite of depression.) All attributable I believed to sadness due to my family being scattered throughout our vast country. However, I was wrong and Covid’s current visit has provided another of life’s unexpected lessons.
Rather than allow even a mite of depression about those I love being physically absent in my life, I will concentrate with gratitude for the Good Samaritans who are.
Courtney, the amazing medical professional in charge of wellness in our residence, who immediately sent help when I dialed the wrong number and caught her at a rare moment off duty.
Jim, who then instantly arrived with a Covid test and assured me I had not been struck with a new version of The Black Death ( I do tend to be dramatic).
And finally, Brook and Trish, who tended me with such loving care yesterday. Their gentle kindness and professional skills made me regret allowing even a sliver of depression.
Their combined youth and optimism also allowed me to see the glory and magnificence of the still falling snow. It is indeed breathtaking,
Thanksgiving isn’t the only day to count my blessings.
