Obituary: Irene Gladys Trautenberg, Formerly of Massapequa, Dies at 91
Visitation will take place on Sunday.

Visitation: Sunday, July 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Massapequa Funeral Home, North Chapel on 1050 Park Boulevard in Massapequa Park.
Obituary: Irene Gladys Trautenberg, formerly of Massapequa, passed away at her North Dakota home on Monday, July 4. She was 91.

Irene was born in Norwich, England on September 13,1924 to Elizabeth (Watts) and Edward Bussey.
She was an English war bride of William John Trautenberg; they were married on January 6, 1945 at St. Michael Coslany, in Norwich England.

After the war she joined Bill in the U.S. in March 1946, where they lived with Bill’s parents in Cambria Heights.
After their daughter Karen was born, the couple moved to Massapequa along with Bill’s parents.
The two then had a son, Robert, in 1955.
The couple were active charter members of St. David’s Lutheran Church in Massapequa Park.
After 65 years together, Bill passed away in 2011.
After his death, Irene went to live with Karen and her husband Bob Lawson in Watford City, ND.
In addition to her husband and parent, Irene was predeceased by her sisters; Doris Howard, Maisie Cooper and Betty Legrice.
In addition, to her children she is survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Irene will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton next to her husband.
