Obituary: Zachary A. Solomons, of Massapequa, Dies at 22
The local resident passed away after suffering from PTSD.
Zachary A. Solomons, a Corporal in the U.S. Marines, died suddenly after losing a battle with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on April 4, 2016. He was 22.
Solomons, a Massapequa resident, tragically lost his struggle with PTSD after returning state side from combat, according to the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company.
The Amityville Fire Department's Tower Ladder 1-1-5 set up a flag arch in front of Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale to honor him on April 13.

He is survived by his parents, Constance and Philip; his sisters, Sarah Lynn Wood, Meghan, and Elizabeth; his grandparents, Mark R. Drummond, Jack E. and Venita A. Solomons and his niece Joslyn Raymond, according to Newsday.
Visitation was held at the Massapequa Funeral Home and a funeral service was held at the St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Massapequa.

On behalf of the family, in lieu of flowers, they are requesting for donations to be made in his name to 22 Until None (http://www.22untilnone.org/#!donate/cee5), an organization that is helping to end veteran suicide.
