Peter King: If Ted Cruz Gets Nomination, I'll Take Cyanide

The GOP representative made the comments on the day of the New York primary.

On the day of the New York primary, U.S. Rep. Peter King made his feelings on Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz very clear.

"First of all, in case anybody is confused, I am not endorsing Ted Cruz," King said, speaking on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"I hate Ted Cruz, and I think I'll take cyanide if he ever got the nomination."

King, who represents New York's second congressional district on Long Island, predicted a big victory in New York for Donald Trump but added that he did not endorse Trump and in fact voted for John Kasich via absentee ballot. King said he was not formally endorsing Kasich either and he voted for him to send a message.

Talking about the support Trump has on Long Island, King said every part of the island he had been to, "They talk about Donald Trump." Trump has a sizable lead in the primary and is expected to dominate the state.

King, who has previously said, "any New Yorker who even thinks of voting for Ted Cruz should have their head examined,” represents parts of Nassau and Suffolk counties.
