Plainedge H.S. Mourns Senior Killed In Seaford-Oyster Bay Crash

Dylan Nuccio died when his car overturned and rammed into a tree on Tuesday morning, the school confirmed.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A Plainedge High School student has been identified as the victim in a deadly crash Tuesday morning on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.

Dylan Nuccio, 17, was killed when his vehicle left the ramp at Exit 5 and slammed into a tree, Nassau police said.

Nuccio, a senior at Plainedge, was confirmed by the school as the victim.

The school set up a crisis intervention team to help everyone cope with the tragedy.

"We are deeply saddened by this loss to our school community and will make every effort to support our staff, students, and families," Superintendent Edward A. Salina, Jr. told families in an email. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Nuccio family and friends and the entire Plainedge community during this very difficult time."

Among the grieving is the Plainedge Federation of Teachers, who said they stand with the entire Nuccio family "during this tragedy."

Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
