Police: Car Found in Merrick Belonged to Murdered Farmingville Woman

Volkswagen Jetta was registered to Monica Lino, who was found dead Sunday afternoon, police say.

A car belonging to a Farmingville woman who was found dead Sunday has been located in a Nassau County parking lot, authorities said.

Suffolk Police homicide investigators discovered the car in Merrick near Washington Drive on Monday morning. The Volkswagen Jetta was registered to Monica Lino, who was found dead in her home on Berkshire Drive on Sunday afternoon.

Lino, 36, was a “victim of violence,” police have said.

Lino, a mother of two, told her aunt that she had plans with a new friend on Saturday night, according to a WABC report. No arrests have been made.

Lino’s car was impounded as evidence as the investigation continues, police said.
