Police have ruled the man's death a homicide. The victim "sustained multiple lacerations and blunt force trauma to the upper body and head,” Nassau County Police Det. Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said, according to a CBS New York report. “These injuries appear to be from a large cutting instrument."
The man's body was found in a wooded area of the Massapequa Preserve near Seaview and Ocean Avenues shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday by a local resident who was walking his dog.
