Powerball Winning Lottery Numbers For Nearly $1.6 Billion Jackpot, Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016

UPDATE: The winning numbers are 4, 8, 19, 27, 34 and Powerball number 10. Jackpot-winning tickets were sold in California, Florida and Tennessee. The final jackpot for the drawing was $1.59 billion.

The numbers will be drawn for Powerball’s historic $1.5 billion jackpot on Wednesday night.

New York Lottery retailers across the state are reporting huge lines of aspiring billionaires as the hours wind down to the 10:59 p.m. ET drawing.

Here are some facts regarding the drawing:

• The $1.5 billion jackpot is the largest jackpot prize of any lottery game in U.S. history and the biggest lottery prize ever offered in the world that can be won with a single ticket.
• Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer. Find one here.
• You can buy tickets until 10 p.m. in New York.
• You are very, very, very unlikely to win. The odds of winning are just one in 292.2 million.
• But one lucky someone across the 44 states that take part in Powerball is likely to win. As of Wednesday afternoon, nearly 86 percent of all possible Powerball combinations have been played, according to a TIME report.
• The lump sum cash value of the $1.5 billion jackpot is $930 million. After federal and state taxes, though, you’d take home $615.5 million, according to www.usamega.com.
• New Yorkers can watch the drawing live on WABC or via a live steam on the Florida Lottery website here.
• If no one wins Wednesday’s drawing, the jackpot will rise to $2 billion, with a cash option of $1.24 billion.

Although no one won last Saturday’s $949.8 Powerball jackpot, there were 10 tickets sold on Long Island worth between $50,000 and $1 million. Check out where those lucky tickets were sold here.
