We don’t know each other’s pain

Apart from age, we have little in common

For some unknown reason we have been brought

into each other’s world

As we reach out for strength to face another day

Who sometimes wonder about the fate that brought us together

To lift our hearts in praise

We attempt to hide our loneliness with bravado

and hope no one sees behind the shield of our smiles
