A Precious

If I were young again,

I would laugh more and I would love more and

I would never cry, Nor be afraid

I would read more poetry, And tell more stories

And I would make more friends, But still fall in love only once in my ife.

If I were young again

I would always be honest But only with kindness

I would forgive more easily And try to understand

I would stop weighing myself daily And enjoy coffee and chocolate without guilt

I would listen to music every moment I had and I would play games

If I were young again

I would remember only the kindness, love and beauty of everyone and everything I had known

And I would learn to look forward and not back on yesterday’s sorrows

If I were young again,

I would give thanks every moment for the gift of life and

I would remember to serve others with compassion and not judgement

If I were young again,

I doubt I would wish to return for a second ride on the carpet of life.

Because If I were young again, I would make all the same mistakes,

And that would be because once upon a time

I was young and didn’t realize

how precious the gift of life is.
