Preschool children at Grace have been learning about their local community
Sergeant Greg of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit shares his story.
The preschool children at Grace Early Childhood Center in Massapequa have been learning about their local community. To bring the learning to life, Suffolk Country Police officers and a NYPD sergeant visited Grace students. They all spoke about the vital role the police play in helping and supporting the community.
The children listened intently to the officers’ explanations about the many ways in which the police help all people, including animals and our pets! The real fun began when the children were given a tour of the police car.
Sergeant Greg of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit shared his water rescue equipment. The students even tried on several of his helmets!
