Prosecutor: Massapequa Man Killed Woman for not Dropping Criminal Complaint

David Newbeck pleads not guilty to murder of Mandy Jo Jenkins.

A Massapequa man allegedly shot and killed a woman because she wouldn't drop a criminal complaint she filed against his girlfriend.

David Newbeck plead not guilty to second degree murder charges in Suffolk County Court Monday in connection with the shooting death of Mandy Jo Jenkins, 30.

Jenkins was killed in August and her body was found near and LIRR station in North Lindenhurst on October 3.

Newbeck was arrested as he was boarding a flight from Texas to flee to Central America, prosecutors said.

He was also charged with wepons possession aand hindering prosecution.

Jenkins' boyfriend, Joseph DeFilice, has also been charged with murder, criminal facilitation and hindering prosecution in connection with the case. He plead not guilty on October 22.
