South Oaks Hospital Recognized for Energy Efficiency
The hospital received the 2016 ENERGY STAR CHP award.

South Oaks Hospital was recently recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its energy efficiency with a 2016 ENERGY STAR CHP award.
This award was for the hospital’s 1.25 MW natural gas-fire combined heat and power (CHP) system, which uses nearly 30 percent less fuel than other energy options, the EPA noted. CHP systems emit 2,400 metric tons less carbon dioxide than other energy usage options.
South Oaks upgraded to the more efficient system in 2007.
