Special Election For State Assembly To Be Held Tuesday
Voters will choose who will fill the seat left open by Joseph Saladino.

A special election to fill the seat left open by Joseph Saladino in the New York State Assembly District 9 will be held this week.
Residents of the district can vote on Tuesday, May 23 between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Polling locations can be found at suffolkvotes.com or nassaucountyny.gov.

Voters will choose between Democrat Christine Pellegrino and Republican Thomas Gargiulo for the seat left open after Saladino was elected as Town of Oyster Bay supervisor in January.
The 9th assembly district includes Massapequa, Massapequa Park, East Massapequa, Farmingdale, West Babylon, North Babylon, Babylon Village, Brightwaters, Gilgo Beach, Oak Beach, West Islip and West Bay Shore.

The district is one of 710 state legislative districts that intersects with one or more "Pivot Counties" or counties that voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016 after voting for Barack Obama (D) in 2008 and 2012.
