Mom always warned Ellen and I about “self praise.” She described it vividly which I will not repeat here, but her words of wisdom have lingered as time moved on,

Today I will violate that rule, and frankly, because I must say I am quite proud of my achievement.

I made my first online deposit of a written check today, and did it without stress or error the first time I tried.

Even my tech class companions, including our Incredible leader, Nessa, seemed impressed.

It may have been a first for our group.

And rather than focus on my failures in life, I will rejoice in the many small successes the Lord has allowed including a growing confidence in technology.

The success in online banking seems minuscule but arranging transportation to a bank in today’s semi blizzard conditions would not have been simplistic. And obviously, more costly than an internet transaction.

I had no fear of falling as I sat comfortably with my cup of coffee watching the screen guide my fingers to the camera that took a picture of the handwritten transaction.

And once again, I was taught to recognize not the major miracles, but the small ones that are like stars lighting up our path.
