AMITYVILLE, NY - One person was taken the hospital after an SUV slammed into a Amityville business Wednesday morning.
The Nissan SUV, which was occupied by two people, went through the outside wall of a lawn mower repair shop before its front end came to rest several feet inside the shop.
The Amityville Fire Department responded to the crash at Broadway and Washington Avenue, just north of Sunrise Highway, around 9 a.m., the department said on its Facebook page.

One person in the SUV was taken the hospital with unspecified injuries. The other occupant refused medical attention.
The crew from Amityville’s Heavy Rescue 15 shored the building up while a building inspector and fire marshal were called to the scene. The North Amityville Fire Department also provided a mutual aid engine at the scene.
