'Thin Blue Island' Set for Sunday in Massapequa

A candlelight vigil is planned for this weekend to honor fallen men and women of law enforcement.

Thin Blue Island, which pledges support for police officers who risk their lives for the safety of others, will hold a vigil at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa Sunday.

Thin Blue Island also has a Facebook group with more than 1,500 members and was created “for law enforcement, families and friends from Long Island to gather and share events, honor the fallen, and appreciate the men and women in Blue.”

The Massapequa vigil is set for 7 p.m. and is open for all to attend.
