Trio Stole $27K Worth of Rings in Mall Jewelry Store Heist
BREAKING: Do you recognize these people? Police say they stole $27,000 worth of rings from a Nassau store.
Police are looking for three people who stole $27,000 worth of rings from a Nassau jewelry store.
It happened Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. at Glitters Jewelry located inside the Sunrise Mall at 850 Sunrise Highway in Massapequa, Nassau Police said.
According to police, a man and a woman entered the store and distracted an employee by engaging him in a conversation about purchasing jewelry. A second man then entered the store and removed a tray of rings from the display cabinet valued at $27,000. He placed the rings in a red bag and then exited the store, police said.

When the two other people left the store, the employee noticed the tray of rings was missing. The employee followed the trio as they exited out the east doors of the mall and were last seen entering a white sedan.
Police released the following descriptions of the thieves:

- Subject 1- black male, late 30s, average build, medium complexion, beard, wearing glasses, blue baseball cap, blue sweater and blue jeans.
- Subject 2- black male, late 30s, stocky build, unshaven, medium complexion, wearing a light-colored T-shirt, black baseball cap and jeans.
- Subject 3- black female, early 40s, thin build, medium complexion, wearing hoop earrings, dark coat and a pink scarf.
