I admit I don’t “Get out much” these days. Yet I am not totally housebound by limited mobility.

Thanks to a mechanical assistant aptly named Walker, furnished by Amazon that folds like an umbrella, I do leave the residence, shop, join in delightful vineyard tours and occasionally meet friends for lunch.

The pilgrims I encounter when I emerge from this historic building are all nice people. They do not stop in passing to shake hands, or speak. Yet they open doors with a smile if they see me approach and always offer a smile as we pass each other on our intriguing road of life.

They are average Americans, as am I. I truly believe one and all represent the majority who will determine the next leader of our amazing country.

I am weary of hearing candidates for both parties refute this obvious truth.

When a vote for either candidate is cast, it will be from a reputable American who pays taxes, funds payrolls for elected officials and deserves respect.

It is tiresome as the campaign for both parties intensifies to listen to political allies berate supporters of the opposition.

The school teacher, the supermarket clerk, the librarian and the support staff of adult care residences are decent, hardworking citizens, and represent the backbone of our country. They are the strength of America, and their voice is a vote.

It is time for all the political pundits to cease lecturing voters who disagree with their platform.

The voice of the people is a privilege provided by our Constitution. There is no right or wrong in the voting booth. Each vote is the voice of a citizen, and equally important.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2024 we will elect a new President.

The school teacher, supermarket clerk, the librarian, and EMT workers of America will continue to pay their taxes, fund the new administration and deserve respect of both the winning and losing candidate’s supporters.
