Westfield Sunrise Partners with Island Harvest for Hurricane Relief Donations
Massapequa mall is collection sites for hurricane relief donations of food, water, cleaning supplies and personal care items.

Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore and Westfield Sunrise in Massapequa today announced that both regional shopping malls have partnered with Island Harvest Food Bank and will be collection sites for residents wishing to donate to the ongoing hurricane relief efforts in Florida and Texas.
“Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have caused unprecedented damage and upended the lives of thousands of residents throughout Florida and Texas,” said Vanessa Mitton, Marketing Director for Westfield South Shore and Westfield Sunrise. “The help Long Island received right after Superstorm Sandy from across the country is still remembered and greatly appreciated, so we at Westfield felt it was appropriate to partner with Island Harvest Food Bank and serve as a collection point for our guests who want to help out.”
Items needed include bottled water; nonperishable food product such as ready-to-eat canned goods, cereal, pasta, rice, boxed juices and shelf-stable milk (no glass containers please); cleaning supplies including detergent, disinfectants, rubber gloves; and personal care items like deodorant, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, baby wipes and diapers. No clothing items will be accepted. Monetary donations can also be made on Island Harvest Food Bank's website www.islandharvest.org.
