Whiz Kid: Natalie Sabia, 17
About Natalie: Natalie is a recent graduate from Massapequa High School where she was recognized as a top student in her class. She was honored as Salutatorian, earning Principal Honor Role status every quarter at MHS. Upon graduation, Natalie earned a number of scholarships and awards including the MHS Hall of Fame Scholarship, the Massapequa Soccer Club Scholarship, 2011 National Merit Commended Student Award and an AP Scholar with Honor Award.
Natalie served as the captain of the Massapequa Travel Soccer team, winning the State Cup Team Sportsmanship Award. She was a part of the Junior Varsity soccer and softball teams as a Lady Chief. She also designed her travel teams' logo, thus displaying her artistic skill set.

Natalie was part of the Art Honor Society along with being a member and officer of the National Honor Society. She enjoys a good political or ethical debate, participating as a top defense lawyer for Mock Trial at Massapequa. She was the Co-President of S.O.S. (Shoveling Out Seniors) along with helping underclassmen as a peer tutor for academics.
Key to Awesomeness: Natalie has developed into a high-achieving, independent and responsible young woman. She takes her skills and interests a step further in the fact that she strives to be a contributing member to society.

With her interest in art, along with designing her teams’ logo, she helped paint the local post office windows for the Holidays, was selected to paint a mural in a middle school gym as an eighth grader and illustrated the cover of the district school calendar. Natalie also likes to help illustrate books for less fortunate children in her spare time.
She loves to work with children of all ages on multiple platforms, such as when she served as a referee for the Long Island Junior Soccer League. She received the ‘Outstanding Referee Award’ in 2010 by the organization. Natalie was also recently was involved in an internship at A.G. Morgan Financial.
The newly graduated student will attend Providence College in the fall of 2011, where she will have a major focus of Biology/Secondary Education. She also received an additional scholarship to Providence College- the Saint Dominic Scholarship. Natalie would like to become an A.P. Biology teacher in her future.
