Woman Charged With Multiple Home Burglaries Across Nassau County: Police
She was arrested on Wednesday, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - An Amityville woman was arrested in Massapequa on Wednesday afternoon for multiple burglaries across Nassau County including three in one day, according to Nassau Police.
The Burglary Pattern Team conducted an investigation into the burglaries which led to the arrest of 34-year-old Sonia Villegas at about 2:55 p.m., police said.
According to police, Villegas was charged with the following burglaries:

- On May 27, Villegas entered a home on New York Avenue in Massapequa Park and stole assorted jewelry.
- On Wednesday, she entered a home on Jasper Street in North Valley Stream through a bathroom window and fled when confronted by homeowner.
- On Wednesday, she entered a home on Gates Avenue in Valley Stream and stole assorted jewelry and cash.
- On Wednesday, she entered a home on Debra Court in North Merrick and stole assorted jewelry.
- On April 7, she entered a home on Birchwood Drive in Westbury and stole assorted jewelry.
Detectives found Villegas and arrested her without incident as she exited Cash for Gold Pawn Shop on 5596 Merrick Road in Massapequa, police said.
She is charged with five counts of second degree burglary, police said.

She will be arraigned on Thursday.
