30-Degree Temperature Drop, Coldest Air of The Season Headed to Long Island

A brief shot of cold air, the coldest of the season in fact, is the forecast for Long Island.
Temperatures will be near 60 degrees during the day on Friday but will plummet 30 degrees overnight into Saturday. Wind chill temperatures could fall to as low as 20 early Saturday morning.
It will warm up to about 48 degrees during the afternoon Saturday, though, and highs on Sunday and Monday will be back above seasonable conditions, the National Weather Service says.

Conditions are expected to remain dry through at least until the middle of next week. But AccuWeather says "a significant storm with heavy precipitation, gusty winds and rough seas may unfold over the Northeast prior to the conclusion of next week."
