MEDFORD, NY - Several apartments at a Medford condo complex were destroyed in an aggressive fire that started late Thursday night.
Multiple fire departments and police units responded to Birchwood Drive at the Blue Ridge condominium complex at about 11:40 p.m., police said.
By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, four apartments were up in flames and the blaze then spread to two additional units, officials told NBC New York.
No injuries were reported, police said, but at least a dozen people are now homeless, according to an ABC 7 report.
There has been no word yet on what caused the fire, which took about two hours to bring under control.
In addition to the Medford Fire Department, the North Patchogue, Farmingville, Coram, Gordon Heights and Holtsville departments also helped fight the blaze.
