Long Island Man Attacked Chevy Chase In Road Rage Incident: Cops

Chase, 74, reportedly told the local man, who was arrested, "If I were a lot younger I'd bust your nose."

Actor Chevy Chase says he was kicked in the shoulder by a Long Island man during a road rage incident that occurred earlier this month near the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

Chase, 74, told police that he was cut off while driving by a black pickup truck on the bridge formerly known as Tappan Zee on Feb. 9.

Chase, who lives in Bedford, told police he thought the truck hit his car and signaled with his high beams, following the truck until it pulled over on I-87, TMZ reported.

When the actor saw there was no damage, he sought to speak with the driver, and after an exchange, one of the people in the truck got out and kicked him in the shoulder, knocking him down.

State Police said Thursday that 22-year-old Michael Landrio, of East Patchogue, was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Landrio claims that Chase threw a punch first.

"I didn’t know who he was — I was just trying to defend myself," Landrio, a UPS worker, told the New York Post. "He was physically trying to harm me."

Before he took a kick to the shoulder, Chase says he told three people in the pickup truck, "If I were a lot younger I'd bust your nose," according to the TMZ report.
