Man High On Drugs Drove 124 MPH On LIE: Police
The 27-year-old was arrested early Monday after police tracked his speeding car for more than 20 miles.

MEDFORD, NY – A 27-year-old man was high on drugs as he drove his Honda at more than 120 mph on the Long Island Expressway early Monday, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Muhammad Javed, of Medford, was observed by Nassau County Police officers driving a 2012 Honda Accord at a high rate of speed eastbound on the LIE as he was entering Suffolk County at about 2:20 a.m. Suffolk Police Highway Patrol officers tracked the Honda’s speed at 124 mph, police said. Officers stopped the Honda when it exited the expressway at Exit 64, Route 112 in Medford.
Javed was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, reckless driving and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was also issued a summons for speeding. Javed was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
