SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Medford man was sentenced Friday to 25 years to life in prison for repeatedly sexually abusing a child over a 4 1/2-month span.

Paris Fyall, 37, was convicted Dec. 14 of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a violent felony, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

"Today this defendant will bear the consequences for what he did to an innocent child," Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said in a news release. "I hope that this sentence will provide a measure of closure and security to the victim, while also ensuring that no other children will be victimized by this defendant ever again."

Fyall, a level 3 sex offender stemming from a 2004 conviction of first-degree attempted course of sexual conduct against a child, repeatedly sexually abused a girl between 10 and 11 years old for months, authorities said. He lived in Coram during the time of the abuse, which took place while the girl's mother was at work, and while her sister was in another room, officials said.

When he sexually abused the girl, Fyall was out on parole following a 2010 conviction for first-degree robbery, also classified as a violent felony, prosecutors said.

As part of his parole conditions, Fyall was required to wear a GPS monitor, officials said. Prosecutors and law enforcement were able to gather evidence from the GPS monitor, which placed him at the location of the sexual abuse when it happened, authorities said.

Fyall was represented by Christopher Brocato.
