Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man outside a Shirley residence late Friday night. According to police, Seventh Precinct officers responded to 446 Auborn Avenue around 11:30 p.m. after a 911 caller reported shots fired. The man who was shot, 23-year-old Jamar Lamar, of Shirley, was transported by private vehicle to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.The investigation is continuing.
