Police: Fatal Medford Crash At Rt. 112, Horseblock Intersection

Unidentified victim's car hit tree after driving through red light Thursday, says police.

An unidentified woman died in a car crash Thursday night around 5:06 p.m. in Medford near the intersection of Horseblock Road and Route 112, said Suffolk County Police.

Police said that a 2005 Toyota Carolla traveling eastbound on Horseblock Road drove through a red light at the intersection, and then went up a curb. The vehicle hit a tree at the southeast corner of the intersection, and the victim via Medford Ambulance Company was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue where she died.

The victim's next of kin is still being notified as of this writing, and police say it appeared that she had a medical emergency. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
