Police: Medford Man With 49 License Suspensions Arrested

John Auteri is arrested in Medford Thursday morning, police say.

A Medford man whose driver’s license has been suspended or revoked 49 times over the past two decades was arrested on Thursday morning, police said.

According to police, Fifth Precinct officer Paul Rocchio observed the driver of a 2007 Chrysler, John Auteri, fail to signal when he turned into the parking lot of 580 Route 112 in Medford at 9:55 a.m.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Auteri’s license had been suspended or revoked 49 times on at least 20 different dates dating back to 1986, police said.

Auteri is charged with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
