Police Officer Saves Choking Woman in Medford
Suffolk Police Patrol Officer Bryan Mastrangelo came to the rescue Saturday night.

MEDFORD, NY- A Suffolk County Police officer came to the rescue of a Medford woman who was choking on food at her home Saturday night.
According to police, Patrol Officer Bryan Mastrangelo responded to Eagle Avenue around 9:16 p.m. and found the 35-year-old woman, apparently unable to breathe and signaling that she was choking by placing her hands on her neck.
Officer Mastrangelo, who is a member of the department’s Medical Crisis Action Team (MedCAT), immediately applied abdominal thrusts to the woman, which dislodged the object from her throat.

The woman was able to breathe normally and refused any further medical assistance that was offered.
