SUFFOLK FEDERAL WELCOMES NEW BOARD & SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Suffolk Federal Credit Union is proud to welcome recently elected members Gary J. Lamm, Ed.D. and Robert Schaefer to its Board of Directors, and Gerard Heege Jr. to its Supervisory Committee.

Gary J. Lamm, Ed.D of East Islip, Director, District Administrator of Bay Shore Schools, joins the board with close to 30 years of information systems experience including systems analysis, design, development, implementation and support, business analysis, technology integration, and project management, with diverse experience in corporate, public K-12 and higher education. In education, Lamm has held positions including Assistant Professor of CIS at Briarcliffe College, Director of Technology for the Comsewogue School District, Assistant Adjunct Professor at Suffolk Community College, Adjunct Professor at Concordia Online University and most recently at Stony Brook University. He has also serves as a board trustee for East Islip School District. Privately, Lamm held positions including Technical Analyst for Vitel International, Systems Analyst for Citibank and was also Partner/Owner of Fragola-Lamm Associates. Lamm holds a Master’s degree in technology from Stony Brook University and a Doctorate of education from St. John’s University.

Robert Schaefer of Oakdale, Member, currently serves as the Commissioner of Aviation at Long Island MacArthur Airport. As Commissioner, Schaefer is responsible for the management and operation of Long Island MacArthur Airport and Bayport Aerodrome. Prior to his current position, Schaefer has held positions including Chief of Staff to Suffolk County Legislator Thomas Barraga, Deputy Commissioner of Aviation and Director of Security at Long Island MacArthur Airport and multiple positions at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at JFK Airport where he was in charge of special flights, and other duties at all Port Authority facilities. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Long Island Visitors and Convention Bureau. Schaefer is the recipient of the Gold WTC Medal from the Port Authority for actions taken on September 11th at Ground Zero. He has also received numerous awards from the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. State Department, and United Nations.

Gerard Heege of Medford, Member, and Founder & CEO of eScope Solutions Inc., joins the Supervisory Committee with 20 years of expertise in the credit union industry. He brings extensive knowledge to the board on topics of information technology, network security, identity theft protection and regulatory compliance. Prior to his current position, Heege also held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Promark Peripherals Inc. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Brookhaven Industrial Group, and has professional certifications from Certified Novell Administrators and Cisco.
