Athlete Spotlight: Alexis Panetta

Panetta has been an awesome captain for the girls track team.

She helped the team win their second division title, pushed her teammates in practice and motivated her 4x800 relay team to compete one final race at the state qualifier meet.

For the last five competitions, Panetta ran personal bests in both the 1500 and the 800 meter and she was determined to set one more personal record at state qualifiers. She exceeded her coach’s expectations with a six-second personal record, running a 2:26 half mile.

This season comes after running almost 400 miles last summer and training hard through cross-country and winter track. Panetta was all-division this spring and a crucial member of the 4x8 relay that finished third in the county.
