Your guide to eating out locally.

Sometimes we need to mix it up when it comes to our meals. One of the best recommendations offered when you’re bored with your normal menu is to try food that is traditional to a specific culture. Well, if you’re in the mood to try some Greek specialties, Gyro Palace is a great choice.

Gyro Palace most certainly has a no frills appearance, but that is part of the eatery’s appeal. Featured menu items include classic Greek specialties. The chicken lemon soup, which is offered in both cup and bowl sizes, is a twist on your Grandma’s sick-day cure. The addition of the lemony flavor offers something different for those of us who are unaccustomed to this Mediterranean treat. Aside from the standard chicken lemon, Gyro Palace offers other soup selections and also features a soup of the day.

If you’re looking for the typical Greek salad, you won’t find just that at Gyro Palace. An authentic Greek salad – horiatiki – is served up fresh. If you want a little something extra, try the Palace special salad with cucumbers, feta cheese, chickpeas, red onion, kalamata olives, and roasted red peppers. These dishes can serve as a starter or a meal.
