Bites Nearby: My Hero

You guide to eating out locally.

Quick bites are the name of the game when you’re looking for some lunches to bring to the beach or a fulfilling, hearty snack during your son’s night time volleyball games on the sand.

Head over to My Hero to get your share of meats, cheese and other hero-worthy culinary delights.

Try one of their signature and specialty heroes. The bocconcini hero is piled with mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers, eggplant and as My Hero’s menu states, “the works,” while the turkey club takes on a slightly lighter taste with turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, mayo and bacon.

Veggie lovers will be delighted at the eggplant, olives, roasted peppers, lettuce, tomato and cucumbers topped with oil and vinegar that make up their splendid treat.

Here, you can find a plethora of cold heroes, incluing American cheese, bologna and liverwurst, chicken salad, pepperoni and provolone and ham capicolla and cheese, to name a few, as well as an equally appetizing selection of hot heroes – bacon and egg, meatball and sausage and chicken cutlet parmigiana.

Sometimes you might find that even though you wandered into a shop called My Hero, you would actually prefer some other sort of food. Don’t walk back through that door yet. Stick around for awhile and sample one of the store’s hot platters such as baked ziti, cheeseburger and fries, filet of sole or eggplant parmigiana.

Consider using My Hero for catering at your next home affair. Cold party heroes from two to six feet, rigatoni with meat sauce, chicken marsala, a tray of meatballs and a salad bowl fit for 20 people are a few of the offered options.

If you’re really short on time, call ahead to place your order so that it’s ready upon arrival. Remember to have cash, since My Hero does not accept credit cards.
