Students from Calhoun High School's Prep for the Future program enjoyed their field trip to the Merrick Gables Cafe on Tuesday, October 23rd. They watched crepes being made and then had the fun of tasting some delicious crepes made by cafe owner, Brian Sztabnik, himself a graduate of Calhoun High School's class of 2003. Brian spoke to the group about the challenges of starting a new business and all the hard work and devotion it entails.
The Merrick Gables Cafe, recently opened in August, serves up simple, tasty fare like crepes, panini, wraps, salads, hot dogs, and soup along with daily specials like vegetable lasagna. The cafe opens up early daily and stays open till the post-dinner hours, so no matter what you are in the mood to eat, the cafe has something to please all palettes.
