Denenberg Holds Community Policing Forums & Med Drop-off

Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) is pleased to be hosting two meetings on community policing and quality of life issues. The first will be held at Wantagh Library on June 13; the second, North Bellmore Library on June 20. Both begin at 7:30 p.m.  Guests include representatives from the Nassau County Police Department.  The police will discuss the precinct consolidation status, recent burglaries, staffing, crime, traffic enforcement, neighborhood issues, problem oriented policing and the goals of law enforcement.  The majority of both meetings is reserved for questions and answers.

Additionally, for the June 20 meeting, Legislator Denenberg encourages residents to bring expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications for disposal in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 60,000 children are treated in emergency departments due to accidental unsupervised ingestions each year.  Keep our homes and communities drug-free!
