Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) and Cornell Cooperative Extension are hosting workshops on gardening/horticulture on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at East Meadow Farm and Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Jewel Quinn Senior Center.
Gardening is a popular suburban hobby and an affordable way to improve the value of your home and beautify the neighborhood. Experts will provide information, offer assistance and answer questions regarding plant and lawn care, annual and perennial flowers, insect and pest control, growing fruits and vegetables, pruning and fertilization, watering techniques and reduced pesticide use.
The East Meadow Farm is an active farm with an herb garden, rose garden, native plants garden and vegetable garden. Please come and see it!
