Donate Blood At The North Merrick Library June 19

The need for blood is always high. Donate today, and you could save a life.

Senator John Brooks is sponsoring a Blood Drive at the North Merrick Library on Monday, June 19, from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. As road traffic increases with summer vacationing, so do motor vehicle accidents, which can cause serious injuries — requiring the need for more blood donations and blood donors.

The library is located at 1691 Meadowbrook Road in Merrick. Nearly anyone can come and donate blood, however, donors must:

  • Be in good general health and feeling well.
  • Weigh at least 110 lbs.
  • Be between ages 16 and 75 (16-year-olds need parental permission; those 76 and older require a doctor’s note).
  • Have no new tattoos within the past 12 months.
  • Bring identification with signature or photo.

Anyone interested in donating can contact Senator Brooks’ District Office at 516-882-0630 with any questions.
