The Care and Maintenance of Your Brain

One of Dr. Karen Purcell's passions is improving brain function. For many years she has been working with children and adults with moderate to severe brain disorders, including ADD/ADHD, PDD, AND Autism. She started a foundation for learning disabled children called THE WINS FOUNDATION (We're Important, Not Stupid). She will give advice on diet, supplements and detoxification in order to improve brain function and memory, as well as what substances to avoid, some that you come into contact with every day which may be harmful to your brain. She will discuss depression and how to lift your mood naturally and the role of essential fatty acids and amino acids in healthy brain chemistry. She will explain ADD and the autism controversy, provide insight into the use of hormones, antioxidants and oxygen; how spinal subluxations affect the brain and how to prevent mental aging.

Dr. Karen Purcell is a physician who literally healed herself when serious health problems derailed her world-class operatic career. After a string of doctors failed to help her, she began investigating natural medicine in order to restore her health. These holistic disciplines improved her health so dramatically that she earned credentials in them in order to help others. She is a Board Certified Naturopathic Physician, licensed Clinical Nutritionist, Master Herbalist, Certified Homeopath, International Opera singer, professional speaker and has appeared on radio and TV. She is included in: WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA, wHO'S WHO IN MEDICINE AND HEALTHCARE, The International Association of Counselors and Therapists, The American Naturopathic Medical Association, The International Association of Clinical Nutritionists, and is a Fulbright Scholar. She has offices in Manhattan and Ulster County, NY. Please visit her website @ www.divadoc.com
