Free Presentation: The Future of Fish, Sharks and Fishing in America's Oceans

OperationSPLASH.org
is hosting a very special free presentation: "The Future of Fish, Sharks
and Fishing in America's Oceans" presented by Jamie Pollack.

Tuesday,
October 2, 7:30pm, Freeport Recreation Center, Second Floor Auditorium, 130
East Merrick Road, Freeport, NY 11520.

Find out
what's happening today in Ocean Conservation. Hear what's being
done to support the fishing industry--as well as the fish--and how we
can all help protect blue fin tuna, sea turtles, sharks and Atlantic
Menhaden.

Jamie Pollack is the New York State
Representative for the Pew Environment
Group
on fishery issues in the Mid
Atlantic. A certified scuba diver, Ms. Pollack is also the founder and director
of Shark Angels, a non-profit organization combating the barbaric shark-fin
industry by empowering people to take action locally to save sharks globally.

This
presentation is open to all. Seating is limited to 200. Please arrive early.

Founded
in Freeport in 1990, Operation SPLASH is a 2,500 member, grassroots,
all-volunteer organization dedicated to improving the quality of the waterways
along Long Island’s South Shore. Throughout its 22 year history,
SPLASH volunteers have removed more than 1,000,000 pounds of
trash from local waterways while working on other projects to protect and
preserve the fragile South Shore estuaries.
