Jenay Valentine Excels in Business and Sports
Sacred Heart Academy senior receives Bloomberg certification and triple-jumps to 2nd place at NSCHSAA Championships

After completing eight hours of work and testing during study hall periods and afterschool, Jenay Valentine ’17 completed her Bloomberg Market Concepts certification. The Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab at Sacred Heart Academy provided Jenay with the opportunity to gain a competitive edge as she looks forward to a career in finance. She says, “Obtaining my Bloomberg certification will give me a head start in my business courses in college.” Hands-on experience with the Bloomberg terminals is incorporated into curriculum across all department areas within the school. Students are able to tie together subjects such as environmental science, government, technology and theology with economic trends as they see the effects in real-time on the terminals. Jenay’s academic successes this year continue with a rigorous schedule including AP Psychology and AP Literature and Composition. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Regina Cordium Chapter, and the Music Honor Society. Jenay is a recognized student-athlete leader as captain of the Tennis team and valued member of the Track team. Her triple-jump performance landed her in 2nd place and boosted the team to 3rd overall in the Nassau-Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association Championships. Outside of Sacred Heart, Jenay shares her talents through service at Hofstra’s Saturday Scholars Program, singing in her Church choir and helping children with summer reading.
