JFK HS PTA Welcomes Members, Announces Dates
KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL PTA WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS, ANNOUNCES MEETING DATES
A new school year has begun and the PTA of the Kennedy High School extends a warm welcome to students, parents, faculty and staff for the 2014-15 year.
The PTA is proud to play an active role in students’ high school years, bringing together parents, teachers and staff to use their joint energies and power to advocate for improving the health and welfare of our students.

PTA Co-Presidents Elaine Coluccio and Stace Thea look forward to continuing to increase parent involvement and encouraging positive relationships among parents, teachers, administration and support staff during the school year.
The PTA provides various activities that benefit both students and the community. Programs include Reflections, Defensive Driving, Community Service Fair, Senior Fashion Show and post-prom breakfast. In addition, each graduating senior receives a gift from the PTA as a memento of their high school experience. The PTA also makes monetary awards available to those students who qualify (PTA membership required).

“We strongly encourage all parents to participate in PTA fundraisers throughout the year so we can continue to give back to all the students at the school,” said Mrs. Coluccio and Mrs. Thea. The said a major fundraising effort is the sale of school merchandise and clothing and ask everyone to support the PTA by purchasing Kennedy High School clothing and wearing it proudly.” Clothing and other merchandise is available for purchase all year long including during Back-To-School Night on October 2nd and at the Merrick Street Fair (Sept. 13-14) and the Bellmore Family Festival (Sept. 20-21).
The PTA’s biggest fundraiser is membership, at a cost of $15 per family for the year. Parents may send their membership check of $15 per family, payable to John F. Kennedy PTA, to school with their child. Please include the following information with your check: parent/guardian name, email address and phone number and, for each child, student name, grade, first period room number and first period teacher name.
PTA meetings are held monthly on Mondays at 7:00pm. Meetings for the new school year are scheduled for: September 29, October 27, November 17, January 26, 2015, February 23 and March 23.
