Author/historian Ralph Brady will take you on a journey into parts of Long Island most of us weren’t even aware existed! Did you know Long Island was once a “Summer White House” and the place where the first Valentine poem in the U.S. was written? He’ll share his extensive collection of current and vintage photographs along with his PowerPoint presentation, with highlights including magnificent examples of Gothic architecture; the old Vanderbilt Motor Parkway; and mansions of America’s most famous families. Hear about the maritime disaster that was responsible for the establishment of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and more.
