Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick), along with the Merrick Fire Department and the New York Blood Center, hosted a blood drive at Empire Hose Company 3 Fire House on Feb. 28, 2013, to secure much-needed blood supplies for local hospitals.
A total of 58 pints of blood were donated, enough blood for 174 people. All donors received two Mets tickets for their donation.
