Long Island Marathon 2016 Results

Check out all the winners from this year's Long Island Marathon.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY - The rainy weather didn't stop the thousands that attended the 2016 Long Island Marathon this past weekend.

On Saturday, April 30 the 1 Mile race took place followed by the 5k race as well as a one-mile run and Kids Fun Run.

On Sunday, May 1 the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K races took place together on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard behind the famed Nassau Coliseum and finish together inside Eisenhower Park.

The event attracted a total of 554 runners including 160 women and 394 men.

In the marathon race, 33-year-old Oz Pearlman, of New York City, came in first for the men coming in at 2:29:11. He was followed by Emiliano Garcia, 33, of College Point who came in second for the men with a time of 2:36:33 and Julio Sauce, 44, of Brooklyn who came in third for the men with a total time of 2:42:01.

For the women, 26-year-old Amanda Filiberto, of Northport, came in at 3:03:59. Noga Ruttenberg, 42, of Rye came in second for the women at 3:10:25 and Seaford resident Annmarie Charno, 24, came in third at 3:11:59.

Long Island residents took the lead in the half-marathon results.

For the men, East Rockaway resident, 25-year-old Erick Obdulio Chavez Chox, took the lead with a total time of 1:12:20. He was followed by 23-year-old East Rockaway resident Wilson Damian Chavez Chox with a total time of 1:13:23. North Bellmore resident 25-year-old Matt Hassett ranked in third with a time of 1:16:03 and Massapequa Park resident Sal Nastasi, 36, followed with a time of 1:16:35.

For the women, 27-year-old Chelsea Callan, of Westfield, NJ came in first with a time of 1:26:40. Long Beach resident Melissa Moschetto, 35, came in second for the women with a time of 1:27:26 and Tess Gallegos, 26, of Montclair, NJ, followed with a total time of 1:29:06.

In the 10k race, 17-year-old Long Beach resident Justin Weissberg took the win for the men with a time of 38:06. He was followed by Baltimore, Maryland resident Jonathan Cheng, 32, who took second place for the men with a time of 38:38 and 32-year-old Lynbrook resident Joshua Parsons, who came in third for the men with a time of 38:46.

For the women, Kelly Perno-grosser, 35, of Seaford came in first with a total time of 39:22. Coming in second for the women was Massapequa resident Michele Grieco, 27, with a total time of 39:56. Shari Klarfeld, 35, of Plainview, came in third for the women at 41:05.

Another Long Beach resident ranked in the 5k race for the men with 52-year-old Wayne Vartabedian coming in third place with a time of 19:26, barely trailing behind second place winner for the men Benjamin Lazo, 31, of Kew Gardens who came in at 19:26.

Both were beaten out by first place winner Nick Morfesi, 19, of West Babylon.

Jen Dagan, 32, of Centereach came in first for the women in the 5k race with a total time of 18:32. Sayville resident, 20-year-old Erin Macdonell came in second for the women at 20:34 while Plainview resident, 21-year-old Melanie Fiume came in third at 20:53.
