The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. A Long Island couple faces felony assault charges for whipping their 8-year-old son with an extension cord, Nassau Police said. Oluwafeyi Faniyi, 30, and Olufemi Faniyi, 32, of Mirin Avenue in Roosevelt, were arrested on Monday. According to police, they disciplined their son for misbehaving by whipping him with the cord. Police were notified after a teacher at the boy's school noticed open lacerations, both old and new, on his back and arms, police said. The child was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released to a family member, police said. The boy's parents are each charged with second degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. They will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.NCPD photos
