A 58-year-old man died after his pickup truck struck a tree on the Meadowbrook State Parkway Friday afternoon, State Police said.   According to police, Timothy Darwell, of North Bellmore, was driving a 2008 white Toyoya Tacome northbound on the Meadowbrook, north of the Southern State Parkway, when he lost control of the truck due to the slippery pavement and struck a tree on the shoulder of the parkway.   Darwell was transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. New York State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call 631-756-3300.
