Man Gave Away iPhones from Nassau AT&T Store: Police

BREAKING: He allegedly gave away thousands of dollars in phones under fake contracts.

A Springfield Gardens man was arrested and charged with giving away thousands of dollars of iPhones from his job as an AT&T employee.

Anthony Wilson, 24, was arrested in Merrick on Friday at 10:50 p.m., police said.

According to detectives, on Aug. 7 and 8, Anthony Wilson, 24, while employed at the AT&T store at 186 Merrick Road in Merrick, opened four fraudulent accounts for four unknown people. Police say he gave these people a total of 15 iPhone 6s worth more than $13,000.

After an extensive investigation, detectives arrested Wilson at the store. The investigation is ongoing.

Wilson is charged with four counts of fourth degree grand larceny, four counts of first degree falsifying business records and four counts of first degree identity theft. He was arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
